Hosted by Rachel Coalition, the domestic violence division of JFS MetroWest, this annual community event raises awareness about domestic violence through education. Established with generous support from Thelma and Richard Florin, longtime JFS supporters and community advocates, the series seeks to raise awareness about domestic violence in our community to drive meaningful change.
Jordana Horn Gordon – Moderator
Jordana Horn Gordon is a writer, journalist, podcaster, retired lawyer, and activist. She has served on the boards of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ and the Essex County section of the National Council of Jewish Women. She is currently a board member of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) and Action Together New Jersey, and serves as a New Jersey Cabinet member for Birthright Israel. Jordana is also the mother of six children, ages 10–22.
Nicole Morella
Nicole Morella is the Co-Executive Director of the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence (NJCEDV), where she has worked for more than 10 years. She has nearly 25 years of experience in the domestic violence field and previously served as NJCEDV’s Policy Director, collaborating with advocates and survivors to advance legislation, increase funding, and improve survivors’ access to services. Before joining NJCEDV, Nicole was the Coordinator of Professional Training with JBWS in Morris County, educating thousands of professionals across disciplines on domestic violence prevention and response. She began her career as a Legal Advocate with the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Washington, D.C. Nicole holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Women’s Studies from The George Washington University.
Aaron Turner
Aaron Turner is the Chief Philanthropic Officer at the Community Foundation of New Jersey, where she leads the team stewarding the charitable giving of more than 1,100 fundholders, who contributed over $105 million to impactful causes in 2024. Before joining the Foundation in 2022, Aaron was Senior Program Officer at a family foundation, leading education investments in Newark, NJ. Her work included launching and managing school improvement initiatives in partnership with Newark Public Schools, charter networks, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders. Earlier in her career, she served as a Program Officer at the Foundation for Newark’s Future and spent eight years in leadership roles at the New York City Department of Education. Aaron began her career at Reading Is Fundamental following a volunteer year with AmeriCorps in New Mexico. She serves on the boards of Mentor Newark and the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers, and lives in Morristown, NJ with her husband, two daughters, and three rescue dogs.
Suzanne Groisser, JD
Suzanne Groisser is the Director of Legal Services for Rachel Coalition at Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ, where she has worked for over 22 years. She provides direct representation and consultation to clients in family court domestic violence matters, mentors pro bono attorneys, and trains court staff, nonprofit partners, health care providers, and advocate volunteers. Prior to joining JFS MetroWest, Suzanne served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and an active member of the Essex County Domestic Violence Working Group and the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence Attorney Group. In 2015, she received the New Jersey Attorney General’s Crime Victim Rights’ Award.
Marianne McCrone, MS, NCC, LPC, ACS
Marianne McCrone is the Clinical Director of Child & Adolescent Services and Rachel Coalition, the domestic violence counseling program at Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ. A Licensed Professional Counselor, she has worked in the field of mental health and trauma for over 15 years. Marianne oversees outpatient mental health services for children, families, and survivors of domestic violence, and supervises a team of clinicians. She also partners with schools and community organizations across MetroWest to provide education on mental health, social-emotional wellness, and the prevention of domestic and dating violence.
