Anxious about the myriad of changes that a new baby will bring into your life? Sleep deprived and wondering when the crying will stop? Wondering if your child is reaching his milestones “on time?” Is your child being bullied at school? Are you wondering if certain behavior is “normal?” Are you having difficulty letting go of that college-bound teen? And what about when your child comes back home after college? Being a parent is a 24/7 job that never ends.
Addressing a Range of Issues
From pre-natal anxieties, to postpartum depression, to concern over the loss of personal space and autonomy, JFS social workers can help you adjust to new parenthood and deal with pre-school issues such as separation anxiety and tantrums through parent-child psychotherapy. JFS social workers can help your school-age child who is struggling with social relationships and guide your teen through the anxiety of the college application process and upward achievement push.
All teens face a challenging environment for making healthy decisions, including those in suburban MetroWest NJ. Staff with expertise in adolescent development and trauma based cognitive therapy offer counseling services to adolescents with a range of mental health issues from typically developing teens who are testing boundaries, to teens who have experienced trauma and are acting out with worrisome self-destructive behaviors.
