Chai Café Hudson County Congregate Kosher Nutrition Site
Providing Kosher Meals and Socialization for Older Adults
The Chai Café is a congregate Kosher nutrition site for anyone over 60 years old, offering a hot nutritious lunch, socialization, and social work support. Each meal meets the nutritional requirements of the Older Americans Act, Title III Guidelines. Socialization programs include, lectures on health, nutrition, safety and aging, holiday celebrations, intergenerational events, and a regular discussion group on current events. All programs are followed by lunch. A social worker is on site weekly to monitor changes in participants and assess eligibility for community resources as needed. The Chai Café was established to holistically address the needs of older adults, by reducing isolation, ensure balanced nutrition, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
