Eldercare Support Services

Jewish Family Service support programs are designed to help individuals and families reach their fullest potential. The various support groups provide compassion, education and emotional support for those who are struggling with life transitions. Many of the groups are time limited or open ended.

Listing of Support Groups and Services:

A Journey Through Grief: Bereavement Group for men and women who have recently lost a spouse and are adjusting to their loss and sorrow.  Registration is NOW BEING ACCEPTED Click here for more information

Beyond Bereavement: A group for men and women who have experienced the loss of a spouse and are redefining their lives.

Bereavement Group: A group for men and women who have lost a relative or friend and would like to share their feelings of loss and sadness.

Caring For Your Aging Parent: A support group for adult children.

Caregiver's Support Group: A support group for spouses.

Friend Advocate 
For elderly residents in Essex County, JFS offers the Friend Advocate program where volunteers provide supervised assistance with bill paying, reading mail and completing application/insurance forms for older adults. This program is sponsored by the Essex County Division of Senior Services.
