Depression Screening

Depression Screening for Older Adults:

A specialized screening and behavioral intervention called Healthy IDEAS (Identifying Depression Empowering Activities in Seniors) is available for older adults.

Healthy IDEAS is a program that was developed in partnership with the National Council on Aging (NCOA) in an effort to help older adults recognize signals for
depression and to identify ways to lessen depression.

At JFS of MetroWest, the Healthy IDEAS screening has been administered with
funding support from the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior
Services and also from the Grot
ta Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of MetroWest.

JFS social workers are trained to administer the Healthy IDEAS screening.
